Sherpa Leisure introduces its Fibretrail luggage trailers

One of the key benefits of buying a Sherpa is the fact that owners have the option to design the interior to their own liking. Some owners have been asking to meet other co-owners for some time so that they can exchange ideas. It was therefore decided to arrange a Gauteng Sherpa Rally.
The first Sherpa Rally took place at “Klipdraai Karavaan Park” on the last weekend of February 2020. 24 Sherpa Caravans attended the rally braving cool and very wet conditions. The complete Sherpa range was represented, from the Sherpa Tiny, Rough Roader to the Rambler A and B as well as the latest Sherpa Wanderer. Owners came from far and wide including Thabazimbi, Richards Bay, Bloemfontein and Potchefstroom.
It was interesting to note that a great portion of the owners were retired or very close to retirement so one of the topics that were greatly discussed was how to camp without breaking the back and the bank!
One Rambler owner (Gawie) changed his unit to include a bath with hot and cold water whilst Willie from Richard Bay bragged that his Sherpa Tiny is now on its 3rd set of brand-new tires. He has apparently done more than 200,000 Km’s during the past few years. Fred, however, was the main attraction as he arrived in heavy rain with a self-build Viper Trike (V8) with his Rambler B on tow. Neville De Meillon (Sherpa Leisure owner) had the opportunity to communicate with the owners and listen to new design suggestions and camping tips.
By the end of the weekend friendships were formed with plans made for more camping trips together. The Sherpa Owners based in the Eastern Cape will have a rally during May 2020 (at Yellow Sands), whilst the Western Cape and KZN rally is in the planning phase.
